JRMS Take-Apart Night

JRMS TAKE-APART NIGHT OCTOBER 18, 2023

6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

JRMS invites all families to join us for our first John Read Take-Apart Night in the JRMS cafeteria!

This night of family fun is free of charge and NOT a drop-off event.

Kids will have a chance to see how things work and use their hands (and some cool tools) to explore items they use and see every day.

What to Bring (and NOT BRING) to the Event:

1. Any Old Mechanical-type small appliances and contraptions.  Old VCRs,

printers, hairdryers, toasters, electronic toys, coffee makers, phones, and CD

players are great. (NOTE: They won’t be put back together - so don’t bring

anything you are still using). Devices with motors, gears, and moving parts

are great.

2. Bring your“take-apart”item,safety goggles(if you own them),a

Phillips-head screwdriver, a flat-head screwdriver, some newspaper, and a

trash bag (families are responsible for removing your debris/parts) to the

JRMS cafeteria by 6:00 pm. The event is only an hour and a half long, and it

takes some time to get those screws loosened – so please be on time!

3. DO NOT bring anything that is too large to bring in and take out of the

building, or anything with liquid/chemicals.

SAFETY NOTICE: Printers need cartridges removed prior to arrival. All cords must be pre-cut. No hammers and no monitors, please. We will have some safety goggles you can borrow, but if you have your own, please bring them.

While this event is free of charge, we are asking families to kindly RSVP.
