What is The Big6?

The Big6 is a six-step process with information strategies that can be used whenever you have:

  • a report or project to do

  • information to gather

  • a decision to make

  • a problem to solve

It helps you learn and use information and technology skills at school, at home and throughout life.

Objectives

During their Media special third grade students will...

  • Work cooperatively with other students from their table to meet an information challenge.

  • Use computers with Internet access to complete a WebQuest.

  • Learn, follow and use the steps of The Big6.

  • Keep a journal to record information that is gathered at each step of the Zongony Adventure using the Big6 Assignment Organizer (Grades 3-6). (Copyright 1999, Barbara A. Jansen.)
