Long Island Sound is an important part of the balance of nature in Connecticut. Many animals and plants live in and around Long Island Sound. It is important for us to learn about it in order ensure that we can continue to enjoy the Sound and all it has to offer. You will be creating a pamphlet about Long Island Sound. You will research topics of your choice and use images and words to share information about the Sound with others. In class, you will also be visiting Sherwood Island, a Long Island Sound beach in Westport, CT. Think about what you saw and experienced on your field trip while you complete your research. What connections can you make between what you learn and what you saw?
Research Steps 1. Research two of the topics listed within the TASK page. 2. Use your previous sea animal research to include information about your two animals. 3. Record all research in a brochure format and add images! 4. Remember to write down every website and book you use.
