The responsibility of your counselor in preparing the "Secondary
School Report" for colleges and universities is to provide
a summary of your academic and extracurricular achievement. The
counselor also presents some sense for further personal and intellectual
growth. Conveying your "unique" qualities is not an
easy task. Therefore, we would appreciate your giving us an honest
estimation of yourself, what you have done and what you have left
to do.
Please take time to think about who you are, and where you're
headed. Don't limit your discussion to what has happened to you
in school. Include experiences drawn from any part of your life.
1. What three words best describe you as a person?
2. What are your personal and academic strengths?
3. What are your personal and academic challenges?
4. Do you think your academic record reflects the interests and
strengths mentioned above? If not, why not?
5. What has been your favorite class? Why?
6. What would you describe as your most personally rewarding experience
at Barlow?
7. Which faculty member knows you best? How would this faculty
member describe you?
8. How would a friend describe you?
9. Identify something you would want a college admissions committee,
or an employer to know about you.
10. What are you most interested in studying in college? Why?
11. Are there any schools you may have heard of that appeal to
you or that you would like to investigate?
