update: I retired in 2005 after over 30 years with a federal
regulatory agency. Since then, I have been busier than ever
with volunteer activities with local community theatres, the
city library, and police department. I hardly have time to ride
my motorcycles. I moved to central Texas in 1979 and have become
firmly planted here although I have managed regular trips back
to Connecticut to visit my sister, now living in Shelton. |

Have worked as a foreign correspondent based in Germany and
Austria for the last 20 years, working for most of the time
for Reuters. Have covered everything from the German government,
climate issues, film festivals in Berlin and Cannes, as well
as Olympics and World Cup. Have also covered wars in the Balkans,
earthquakes in Iran, riots in Albania and D-Day celebrations
in France. Been lots of fun. But tough on marriages. Now in
Berlin with 2nd wife and 2 children (2 and 5). Ex-wife and 2
older children (20 and 21) live in Berlin too. Think about JBHS
a lot, strangely enough. Amazing seeing all these names. So
many memories! |
