REACHING BEYOND

Reaching Beyond…is a collaborative and cooperative program between the Easton Public Library and Helen Keller Middle School.  This program is intended to expand the horizons of our sixth grade student population beyond the Easton community.  From February through April, there will be on-going activities during Sustained Silent Reading Periods (SSR), a Round-About Day with five different programs where students will rotate with their homeroom teachers and independent activities requiring parent and student participation.   A culminating Foodfest with a Gospel Choir will further offer the opportunity for interaction and exploration of African-American influences.

Programs included in the Round-About Day are:

®Uncle Wiley (Food Demonstration) -

®Storyteller - Amir Rashid

®Wall of Tiles (Art)

®Blues Through the Ages (Music)

®Dance Troupe
