REACHING BEYOND Requirements

Upon completion of each of the requirements, students will receive the specific number of raffle tickets from a staff member at either the Easton Public Library or the HKMS Media Center. Write your name on the ticket and immediately place it in the Reaching Beyond Box at either library. The more tickets you earn, the more chances you have to win some great prizes!!!! Prizes will include software, Discman, movie tickets, gift certificates to local restaurants, Bluefish tickets, and many more……… The homeroom with the highest number of tickets will be treated to a Pizza Party for lunch.

Library Card	Present your valid library card to the Easton Public Library. If you do not have a library card, register for one. At this time, each student who visits the EPL for this purpose will receive a copy of a book on the reading list.	2 tickets
African-American booklist Booktalked by Mrs. King: Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry Slam Watsons Go to Birmingham Sarny, A Life Remembered (There are additional books in both the Easton Public Library and the Helen Keller Middle School Library that may be read for this project.)	1. Go to the Easton Public Library and select one of the books that Mrs. King booktalked. This is for you to keep in your own personal library. 2. Read the book. 3. Fill out questionnnaire (available at either library). 4. Turn in questionnaire to the specially marked box in the HKMS Media Center. 5. Create a visual: an advertisement, gossip column, newspaper article, book jacket, board game or diorama to depict the theme of your book.	3 tickets per completed questionnaire 4 tickets per visual
