A World Book introduction from the early days of slaves in America to today.
The African American Mosaic
Library Congress resources including books, periodicals, prints, photographs, music and film.
African American Odyssey
As part of the Library of Congress site, it is divided into sections including slavery, freeing Blacks, Abolition, the Civil War, Reconstruction, the Booker T. Washington Era, World War I, Post War, the Depression, World War II and Civil Rights.
African-American Mosaic
While very deep in detail, this is a valuable resource in the history of the Black Experience and shows actual copies of original historical documents -- very interesting.
African Americans in 1800s America
Photographs of African Americans throughout the 19th century searchable by topic (education, family, etc.) and sponsored by the New York Public Library  A picture is worth 1000 words.
African Americans in History
A site supported by the University of George's Institute for African American Studies ... listed alphabetically.
African Americans in the Sports Arena
Learn about the history of the Negro Baseball League...but be aware of advertisements.
