Kissing Kate
Dutton Books, 2003, 198 pages
By Lauren Myracle
Review by L.F. - 2004-2005Lissa thought
about it all the time. It bothered her and she didn’t know why? Was she
a mistake? Was there something wrong with her? Her misery started on the
night of Rob’s party. Lissa and her best friend, Kate decided they would
check it out. Lissa didn’t expect that they would stay long because it
was full of people that gave of a strong smell of alcohol. But later,
Lissa found herself in Rob’s gazebo, outback. She was with Kate. Kate
was drunk she wasn’t. They were talking about what it would be like to
kiss another girl. One thing led to another and let’s just say something
happened that is making Kate ignore Lissa.
I loved this book; it was full of new
friendships, happiness, sadness, and confusion. Lauren Myracle has a way
of putting you in a trance with her words. You never want to put the
book down. Kissing Kate
is a great teen fiction that people who like sad, but with happy ending
books should read.
